Eat less and use your energy

So yesterday night I did my workout with my beloved Crosstrainer for 45 mins. After 20 mins I was imagining there were 2 different voices telling me to stop and the other one telling me to carry on. But I have to say that I wanted to hear the one that said “stop” but the other part of me needed to hear “carry on”.. so in the end I did my workout till the time is out. Yes 45 mins it is.
If you feel lazy at first thinking of the time you have to spend using any exercise machine, think again – whatever you do there is always an end to it and once you manage to bring yourself to do exercise, you will feel good afterwards.
Just don’t waste your time exercising by snacking at night thinking that it is okay to snack just because you burned calories earlier on. If you want to control the urge of snacking, what you can do is brush your teeth earlier, say right after taking a shower so you won’t crave.. I believe that having fresh breath helps.
Try to eat less and frequent rather than eating 3 times a day or just 2 times a day (this is when you skipped breakfast) because eating big meals like this will just make your body produce more insulin when you start to have hunger at night which in turn will turn your body into fats.
So, what works is by eating less and frequent and exercise to burn the calories. Remember you need to burn 3500 kcal in order to lose 1lb of fats.
Make sure to have a fix exercise/workout regime like exercising 5 times a week. Don’t overdo it because that won’t help. As for me, I love thinking that Saturday and Sunday is my two day rest.

How to curb hunger and eat less

Food can be our best friend and also our enemy. When we feel stressed out be it for personal matter or work, we would normally turn to food for comfort. So, how to curb hunger when we are hungry or when we turn to food for comfort?
Here are ways to curb hunger and will make you eat less:
1. Always eat your breakfast, never skip it as when you skip breakfast which happens to be the most important meal of the day, you will tend to overeat by your next meal that is during lunch.
2. As I’ve already mention at point no. 1 above, have a hearty meal during breakfast, if you are not feeling full, get a second helping. It is proven that when we are full during breakfast, you will tend to skip lunch as your body is still full from the food you consume for breakfast and when this happens, you will actually eat less as the food eaten in the morning will normally be used as a fuel for our body thus will help in losing weight. Food group mentioned here are those like bread or rice, please refrain from eating cakes or other sweet food as this will not make you full and are only empty calories.
3. Have an apple for lunch if you still have the urge to eat lunch. We are totally different in many ways, some of us could eat a lot in the morning and some are not, to those who belong to the second group (no appetite to eat a heavy breakfast in the morning), have a healthy snack for lunch, this will make your stomach feel full. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water to go with it.
4. Try to have a good posture while eating, do not slouch your body, it’s good for your system and breathe in while tucking your tummy in, do not release but breathe in normally (in and out). If you are familiar with pilates, you would know how this really works. This could make you feel full too and it’s a good exercise to flatten the tummy.
5. The importance of water, yes.. have it with you everywhere you go even while watching TV or surfing the internet. Have a bottle of water and drink every 30 minutes or every hour. I know you spend hours and hours in front of the pc.
6. If hunger strikes back, go for a walk. Yes, don’t tell me you don’t have time to go out for a walk when you can spend hours in front of the pc. It’s a way to distract your body that you are hungry. Walk between 15 – 30 mins for the purpose of distracting the hunger pangs.
7. Sometimes hunger can be just a sign that you are thirsty so before you grab something to eat, drink water instead and wait for a few minutes. This happens to me a lot, confused between hunger and thirst.
8. Take a nap during the day. Sleeping is not only for beauty sleep but it stops you from eating unless you sleep walk and dream about food. Ok, jokes aside but this is true. When you are in your unconscious state, you won’t be thinking of food. I guess this is way easier to do than going out for a walk (you lazy bums!
so I hope this pointers will help you to curb your hunger and make you eat less.

Losing weight is not about sulking and doing nothing, it’s about being smart – eat smart and think smart!
If you have a weight problem, don’t just sulk and expect the weight to go away. Do something about it, eat smart and think smart. If you have no time to go out and take a few minutes walk (yeah – blame it on the “bad” weather), the least you could do is to eat less, probably cut down sugar intake, if you have to eat a piece of cake with coffee, omit sugar so you get to save a bit of calories from the sugar or just have water with it!
