How to eat junk food without piling on the kilos
Oct 2nd
We know they’re not nutritious but we still eat them. So use these little changes to keep your weight in check:
DON’T SIZE UP
One up-sized serving of McDonald’s french fries has 610 calories while a small serving has 210 calories. Switch from up-sized to small once a week and you’ll lose 20,800 calories a year, or 2.3kg.
TOAST LESS
Instead of two 220ml glasses of wine four times a week, have only one. Calorie savings in a year: 17,264 calories or 1.9kg.
CHIPS CHECK
Love having chips in front of the telly? then go for baked chips instead. Eating 110g of baked chips once a week saves you 6,240 calories a year, or 860g.
When you add them all up: 2.3 kg + 1.9 kg + 860 g = 5.06 kg ( You just did yourself a favor for not piling up an extra 5.06 a year)!
What do you expect for 2009
Mar 4th
I know everybody’s doing it in their blog which urge me to do the same here.
I am the kind of person who loves to make a long list of resolutions and ended up making the same one over and over again…. so this year in particular I have decided to put them in black and white as in writing them down so that I could read them again (next year).. just to see what I will achieve this year based on the following list… so here goes:
1. Trying for another baby, yes we have been trying but to no avail but hopefully this year, there will be an addition to our family. Fingers crossed!
2. I know i have this blog talking about weight loss or reduce weight – that is exactly what I will do – to lose weight till I reach my ideal weight (another 5 kg to reduce) and next year I will let you know about this goal. My secret – eat less calories, eat healthy foods and burn more.
3. Do more housechores (domestically) rather than being majority online. Yes.. this is such a hard habit to break!
4. Save more money… how? just avoid online shopping and looking for new ways to make money online. I might create another site.. still thinking hard on this one. Any progress on this? Will be announce when the time comes cos right now it is such a demanding thing to do, if you have a blog or website, you sure know what I mean. This requires dedication and hard work – just like having a baby.. you have to feed it, take care of it, need your 24 hr care.
5. To be more patient – if you have a child or children (salute you), you will know what I mean. Sometimes, my daughter drives me up the wall and when I lose my temper, I tend to raise my voice which I don’t like… I would love to do this instead – take a deep breath and count till 100 and hope I still don’t lose my temper.
Yes, these are the most significant things that I want to achieve for 2009 – let’s see how I fair this year. How about you? Where is your list? Make yours too and let’s compare.
PS. This post will be digged by 1st week of 2010.
